The 12th Annual IVC/SC Student Research Symposium will be held on the Irvine Valley College campus on Friday, November 3, 2023.

To apply to present your research at the symposium, submit an abstract by Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 11:59 pm.

TYPES OF PRESENTATIONS
Students may apply to present up to two research projects in any discipline:

• one oral presentation/performance and
• one poster presentation

Individual presenters may not deliver two presentations on the same topic.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Students will apply to participate by submitting the following:

• Presentation title
• 25-word description of research for conference program
• An abstract (250 words maximum) that describes the research topic, question, hypothesis, and/or purpose; an explanation of the research methods used; and a discussion of the implications/conclusions drawn or anticipated
• 3-5 relevant and scholarly sources cited in the abstract or consulted in the research

Groups should submit only ONE abstract per group.  Research projects must be mentored by one or more faculty members.

Conference participation is limited to students currently enrolled at Irvine Valley or Saddleback in a minimum of 3 units with a GPA of 2.0 or above.  Applicants will be notified whether they have been accepted by October 18.  IVC students can address questions to Professor Liu at eliu@ivc.edu.
